Get Dragon Boat Racing!

The next ‘Get Dragon Boat Racing!’ will be coming soon

However don't let that stop you from coming down to see what it is all about before then. Anyone and everyone is welcome to our regular training sessions.

Here’s a brilliant opportunity for an exciting, unique and fun way to get fit and healthy and meet new people. Join ExeCalibre Dragon Boat Club for a ‘Get Dragon Boat Racing!’ session. The session is an introduction to the basic technique and principles behind Dragon Boat Racing and is designed for both complete new-comers and those with some experience of either dragon boat racing or other water sports. See pictures from a recent session here.

This course is specially designed to give a safe, fun and interesting introduction to the exciting sport of Dragon Boat Racing. Dragon boating is suitable for all ages, both men and women, and you can start at any fitness or ability level. It won’t take long to develop your technique and strengthen your body!

Your session will include the following:

  • Full Safety briefing
  • Paddling Technique
  • Synchronicity and Team Work
  • Race Starts
  • Light Refreshments

Dragon boating is an all body sport, which does not just focus on the arms and upper body. When done properly Dragon boat paddling works the muscles in your legs, back, shoulders and core abdominals. It’s a great sport to help get rid of those love-handles and bulgy tummies!

When?
The next session will be coming soon.

Where?
The Exe Water Sports Association clubhouse, 62 Haven Rd, Haven Banks, Exeter Quay, EX2 8BP.

How much?
The session costs £5.00 per person. All equipment is provided free of charge.

What will I need to wear?
You will need to wear comfortable clothes, such as tracksuit bottoms, a t-shirt, sweatshirt and trainers. You are advised to bring a complete change of clothes and a towel (although this is rarely needed).

How do I book?
Space on the course is limited (we can only fit 20 people in the boat!), so it’s first come first served basis to get in the boat.
Reserve your place today by calling or texting Lisa on 07921 554378 or e-mail lisa@execalibre.co.uk. You will need to fill in a booking form, and return it and a cheque made payable to 'ExeCalibre Dragon Boat Club' to confirm your place.
