Saturday 6th June

Dartmoor walk (& camp) organised by Sparky - The basic concept will be Sat 6 Jun move to the campsite near Meldon in the morning and set up camp. Start the walk at around 11 with a packed lunch and flask of something. The walk will be a 10 mile circular route with a stop at a pub if feasible ending back at the campsite. Evening meal, drinks and overnight camp departing on Sunday for home when we choose to. Those who don’t wish to stay over, no problem, just go home when you wish to do so. Please let Sparky know if you are interested so he can get a campsite that can hold all and is close to a pub; this would be appreciated.

If you are going to share tents please indicate who you will be sharing with if you know if not we can sort that out later.

This is to be an enjoyable Dartmoor ramble as apposed to a Commando Yomp .

The cost of the organised walk is a mere £5 towards the club funds; all other outlay will be down to the individual (camping, food, travel, drink) however, depending on numbers Sparky might try to get the pub in Belstone to lay on some snacks for when we arrive and maybe some jugs of cider.

See photos.

Friday 12th June

The canoe club will be opening the bar & having a BBQ as it’s the beginning of the Exeter Summer Festival. What better opportunity to access food & drink without having to queue outside the bars on the quayside.

For catering purposes, if you do wish to eat at the club, tickets need to be bought in advance – please ask a club member behind the bar. Tickets are £5.00 pp. Posters are up in the clubhouse / canoe club for further details.

Friday 10th July

Quiz night at the Exeter Watersports Association Club House Canoe Club on Exeter Canal, Haven Banks, Exeter, EX2 8DP.

Please come along and support this as fundraising is important for the continued success of our club. It would be fantastic to see lots of people from outside of the club joining us on the night so encourage your friends and family to come along. A maximum of 6 people per team please. If you are less than 6 or on your own we can always find you a few friendly faces to join up with.

The £5 includes a ploughman's which will be available in the mid-quiz break! The usual rowing club bar will be available.

Should be a good night out - and don't forget to think of a team name.

Tickets available at training sessions from Sue, Debbie or Ed!

Use this poster to advertise the event.

Friday 14th August

Most of you will already know that Steve is leaving the UK to work in Kuwait for a year from 1st September. This means that he will not be coaching or paddling for Exe-Calibre during this time and we'd like to give him a send-off to wish him luck in his new venture, and to thank him for the
commitment he has shown to the club for the past ten years. To this end, there will be a meal at the Taj Mahal, Queen Street, Exeter at 7.00pm, after which people can go on to the new music venue in Exeter 'Mama Stones' for some live music if they wish.
If you would like to attend the meal please let Lisa know by Wednesday 12th August so that I can confirm the booking and give exact numbers to the restaurant.
