Whoever would have expected that we would experience glorious sunshine and an ever so slight tailwind at the National Watersport Centre in Nottingham this weekend? Thank goodness the weather reverted to type on Sunday, with gusting tail/cross wind and a downpour for the final few races!
22 feisty Exe-Calibites brought home valuable league points yesterday after a great day's racing in Mansfield, Nottingham. The new venue brought sunshine, copious tea-drinking and something called a burger cob (must be local dialect for something tasty!) It also saw Exe-Calibre paddlers fighting hard to gain points to maintain our position in the Premier League.
What a fantastic culmination to the hard work, effort and commitment of our Exe-Calibre Paddlers was seen at Henley-on-Thames today! Yet again, two Exe-Calibre crews lined up for the endurance test of 7.5km up and down the Thames. Yet again, two Exe-Calibre crews demonstrated how awesome this sports club is and how competitive we really are.
Today 39 Exe-Calibites made the trek to a very icy Henley-on-Thames to race in the third of the Henley Winter Series, with Exe-Calibre Open currently leading the club crews and Exe-Calibre Blades the only second crew racing yet again!
