What
a brilliant start to the 2009 Dragon Boat Race Season. The
ExeCalibre team participated in the Liverpool races for
the first time, squeezing as many people into as few cars
as possible to make the long journey from Exeter ‘up
north’! Some of us arrived on the Friday to participate
on Saturday – JoJo as chief support and mascot, Steven
as coach and organiser, and Scott, Lisa, Chrissie to take

In
quick succession, the third dragon boat event of the season
was upon us. And after the wet of Exeter and previous Bristol
events we were pleasantly surprised by the warm and sunny
day that greeted us at the Floating Dock in Bristol.
We arrived early to discover that Sparky
had managed to single handedly get the boat off the water
and on to the water. Magnificent! Could this be the sign

The last weekend in June saw Exe-Calibre
heading up to Nottingham to compete in our first ever BDA
league event on the river Trent. It certainly felt strange
not to be racing at the water sport centre; however, the
glorious sunny weather and wide river soon helped us to
feel settled in
